Tamarindo is a small, but vibrant beach town with over 10 amazing surf spots for all experience levels. That means most hotels, surf camps and hostels are within a short walk to the perfect wave for you, your friends and your family.

Tamarindo’s weather is warm, tropical and sunny almost every day throughout the year. The surf is best between May and October, which is also the wet season. But don’t let that deter you as the warm breeze and pitter patter of the rain drops sooth the soul.

Getting to Tamarindo is easy. You will fly to Liberia airport (LIR). Once there’s you’ll jump in a short hour-long shuttle ride (often coordinated by your stay) to Tamarindo.

With numerous surf shops around town, you can easily schedule a surf lesson or rent a high-quality surfboard.

Make sure to take time away from the beach to enjoy some of Tamarindo’s amazing excursions and tours. You can zipline through the canopy of the rainforest, hike a volcano, river raft through some rapids and soak up the sunset on a catamaran cruise all short distances from town.
